The theme of the IANDS Conference August 28-30, 2019, was REVOLUTIONARY EXPERIENCES: The Power of Love and Consciousness. I was privileged to do a one-hour presentation entitled RAISE SPIRITUAL AWARENESS BY REVOLUTIONIZING THE PERSPECTIVE OF COINCIDENCE THROUGH THE APPLICATION OF NEW LANGUAGE.
After the conference program came out, I looked at the list of scheduled events and wondered, What was I thinking when I submitted that long, boring title for my presentation?! It was unfortunate enough that my talk was scheduled for Thursday, the first day at 11:15 A.M. (before most people arrive) but when I compared it to three other presentations that were running concurrent with mine I knew that mine would have the least appeal.
So far, I knew that my friend (and author of Caught Between Heaven and Earth) Nancy van Alphen and husband Eric were coming. In addition, I had called three people I knew who lived in the area of the conference location and asked them to please come and bring a friend. Meanwhile, I was hoping to see Ruth Shilling there, whose workshop I had attended at Lily Dale Assembly. Then I packed my bag and a small box of books and drove alone to King of Prussia, PA, fully expecting that no more than seven people would be my audience.
WOW!
I arrived at the conference location, the Crown Plaza Hotel, around 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday thinking I would not see a soul I knew. When the sliding glass doors opened into the lobby, the first person I saw was Ruth Shilling! We soon discovered that our rooms were side-by-side!
WOW!
After I emptied my belongings into the room, I took the box of books for sale to the conference bookstore. As I waited at the book registration table, I heard a voice behind me say, “Pardon me, are you Emily Rodavich?” Turning, I faced a man I had never seen before. “Do I know you?” I asked. “No,” he replied, “I recognize you from the photo on your first book. I was reading it on the plane, and I love it. I just finished the story about the orange glasses.” His name is Justin. WOW! Another mystical interlude! But that wasn’t the end of it.
WOW!
Caroline Chang, host of AWAKE TO ONENESS RADIO, became my roommate when I learned that she had planned to stay with a local friend and was concerned about arriving there late. Another WOW! (We had great conversations and many giggles! What’s not to LOVE about Caroline!)
WOW!
When I entered the assigned room for my presentation, I saw about twenty chairs lined up and tried not to let my heart sink, knowing that most would remain vacant. But a sweet surprise awaited me at the front of the room! My friend Nell Rose Foreman, whom I had contacted to attend my talk, was waiting there for me with a head microphone and a remote for the slide projector. She had volunteered to help at the conference and had been assigned as my tech aide. Another WOW!
And then, the biggest WOW of all!
To my shock and awe, all chairs were quickly filled! More chairs were brought in to accommodate the people who continued to enter—and folks outside the door had to be turned away! Not only that, Sandra Champlain, author and creator of WE DON’T DIE RADIO, attended my talk along with my roomie, Caroline!
It’s my habit to always say “thank you” after I have experienced a mystical interlude.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU….
