Today my published book, Mystical Interludes, is two months old, and what a two months it’s been! Everybody who publishes a book hopes for positive responses. I’m living a dream come true, for sure. Not only have friends, acquaintances and readers I don’t know responded to me through personal emails and cards, a few have left glowing reviews on Amazon!
The greatest, most unexpected reward of all is that people have reported that the book inspired positive changes in their lives. A young man suffering the loss of his mother, whose death was premature, contacted me to say that reading the book brought him the longed for peace that he’s been yearning for. A friend of many years called to say that after reading the chapter on forgiveness, she has been inspired to forgive and embrace family members who have been estranged for many years because of a painful feud. She said, “If you were able to forgive your aunt during your childhood, I feel that I can certainly manage forgiveness at my age.”
My dear friend, Nancy Aloi, hosted an outstanding book-signing event for me on Sunday, August 28th. This event would not have happened without Nancy (pictured right) and Garrette (pictured below). Due to the extraordinarily hot and humid wealth in Pittsburgh, it was suggested to me that I not be disappointed if there were many no-shows. Yet just the opposite happened! More people than those who RSVPed or even received invitations came, including many people I didn’t know personally. I am still reeling from the large turnout and the many comments, which caused me to glow, both inside and out. An event like that clearly shows who your friends are. I thank each and every person who attended.
Here are some photos of the gathering. I’ll be touching in again at the beginning of October.
